GKIM Skills Framework Refresh - Testing and Feedback – Volunteers from within Government Requested

You may have seen that a small team of colleagues are in the process of refreshing the GKIM skills framework.  A group of about 30 colleagues have been looking at the generic and role specific skills and re-writing them where necessary.  We have also been loading the competences into an online development tool.  In 2022, once the framework is complete, by which time it will also contain a learning catalogue, we will be encouraging all in Government KIM to sign up and use it.

At this first draft stage, we are looking for volunteers to test both:

  • The Competences Framework.  Do the competences describe what you do in your KIM role?  Do they make sense?  Are they structured and worded well?
  • And the Online tool.  Is it intuitive and easy to use?  Can you navigate around it easily?

If you are interested in getting early sight of the refreshed framework and providing feedback to make the final product better, please contact sam.gregory@education.gov.uk [he/him] by close of 8 December.  [You need to be currently working in a UK Government context. You may also need to clear your potential involvement in this project with your line manager and / or Head of Profession].  We just need your email address.  You just need some time in December to help us.  Thank you.
